Galleritsmar is a collection of Jørn Ritsmar’s complete works.
The purpose of the website is to showcase Jørn’s beautiful creations after his passing in 2021, so they can find their way into various homes and bring beauty to them.
The idea behind the logo was to keep it simple. That’s why I chose to use the gallery’s name as the logo itself. I designed several different logos, but in the end, the one on the right was the one selected.
The design
The goal behind the entire website was to keep it as simple as possible. The primary target audience is the older demographic, so it was important that the site is easy to navigate without too many distractions. I chose to create a quick presentation of a selection of Jørn’s works in the cover image, as I felt they were beautiful and added some color to the page. This also makes it easy for visitors to quickly get a sense of the artistic style.
The website was my first project outside of my studies, and it was a very educational experience—both in terms of design decisions and client communication.
The client didn’t want a full webshop, but rather a gallery-style layout where visitors can click on the images to view them in a larger format. To order the artworks, customers need to send an email with their request.
